Protection (Child Protection, SGBV & FGM/C Prevention)

Promoting safety, dignity, and protection for vulnerable populations through prevention, response, and community-based protection systems.

The Challenge

Across Somalia and other fragile contexts where PHASE operates, vulnerable populations face heightened risks of violence, exploitation, and abuse. Women and children are particularly exposed to gender-based violence, harmful practices such as FGM/C, and protection risks in displacement and crisis settings. Weak protection systems and limited access to services further exacerbate these vulnerabilities.

Our Response

PHASE implements integrated protection programmes that prevent and respond to violence, strengthen community-based protection mechanisms, and ensure that survivors have access to safe, confidential, and appropriate support services. Our interventions prioritize dignity, inclusion, and safeguarding across all activities.
