PHASE Executive Director Recognized for Humanitarian Service Excellence

Dr. Mohamed Abukar Mohamed, Executive Director of Pragmatic Help Achieving Social Empowerment (PHASE), has been recognized with the “Most Respected CEO in Humanitarian Service Excellence” award as part of Africa’s Most Respected CEO’s Awards.

The recognition celebrates leadership and commitment to humanitarian service and social empowerment. For PHASE, it also reflects the organization’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and advancing practical, sustainable approaches to social and humanitarian challenges.

Under Dr. Mohamed’s leadership, PHASE has continued to work toward its mission of improving the lives of communities through humanitarian assistance, social empowerment and development initiatives. His leadership has emphasized the importance of ensuring that humanitarian action goes beyond immediate assistance by helping individuals and communities strengthen their resilience and opportunities for the future.

Receiving the recognition, Dr. Mohamed attributed the achievement to the collective efforts behind PHASE’s work.

“This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to the entire PHASE team, our partners and, most importantly, the communities we have the privilege of serving. Their resilience and determination continue to inspire our work. This award strengthens our commitment to serving with integrity, compassion and purpose.”

The award comes at a time when humanitarian organizations across Africa continue to operate in increasingly complex environments, where communities face interconnected challenges ranging from displacement and economic vulnerability to climate-related shocks and limited access to essential services. Effective humanitarian leadership therefore requires not only responding to immediate needs but also building partnerships and approaches that contribute to longer-term resilience.

For PHASE, the recognition provides further motivation to strengthen its programs, deepen collaboration with partners and continue placing communities at the centre of its work.

PHASE congratulates Dr. Mohamed Abukar Mohamed on this recognition and extends its appreciation to its staff, partners and communities whose contributions make the organization’s work possible.

The organization remains committed to its mission of creating meaningful and lasting social impact and to serving communities with professionalism, accountability and compassion.
